Victory Fanfare!
My Favorite Nostalgic Video Games #11

Look, I loved Street Fighter II, I just loved Mortal Kombat a little bit more, why? Gore, yeah, I loved that it had blood and hearts being ripped out, I also loved horror movies. I love things that scare me which also meant violence. I wasn’t allowed to play with toy guns or listen to rap, my parents even took away my NES Zapper when it broke and I took it outside to use it to act like I was Axl Foley because I was really into Beverly Hills Cop 3, don’t judge me! I was young and all I had for that series of movies!! Point is I never owned a Zapper again..

But wait I didn’t even talk about this game at all! The first time I remember ever seeing it was at the bowling alley and there was a big crowd around the machine so I wanted to see what was going on, then I witnessed my first fatality. It was pretty awesome, so my dad bought MK when it came out for consoles, he bought the SNES version so there was no blood, which I was fine with because I was never able to do fatalities anyway.
